Fire TV owners now get to browse the web. Amazon has announced that starting today all Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick users will be able to browse the web on their TVs using Firefox or Amazon’s Silk browser.

Amazon Silk is a web browser developed by Amazon. It was launched in November 2011 for Kindle Fire and Fire Phone, and a Fire TV version was launched in November 2017.
Prime Video is available via a web browser on a computer running Windows, Mac OS, Chrome OS, or Linux. To access Prime Video, please ensure that you are running the latest version of one of these web browsers: Google Chrome. Mozilla Firefox.
You can launch Chrome on Firestick from Your Apps & Channels section on the Fire TV home screen. The chances are that you won’t see it in the side-scrolling row, so click See All at the end of the section. It will open up a separate window of all the installed apps, where you will find the Chrome browser as well.

Overall: Firefox is faster, especially in loading YouTube. But Amazon’s Silk Browser renders websites better and also allows users to add shortcuts to favourite websites. When it comes to accessing internet on Fire TV Stick, Silk Browser seems better suited for the purpose for now.
The Kindle Fire comes with its own special web browser called Amazon Silk that was developed by Amazon’s engineers.

You can easily access all of the prime movies, show, music, etc, and if you want to browse the Web and take pictures, you can easily do all of that. The biggest plus, is the expandable memory!
