How to Recover your Stolen/Lost Phone Using IMEI Number ?
Now every smart phone or even a normal phone has International Mobile Station Equipment Identity (IMEI) number which helps the mobile companies to detect the location in case of any urgency just like you’re having now. All the phones which comes under GSM, UMTS and LTE mobiles IMEI number can definitely help for blocking or tracking your device. So lets get started.
Step #1: Finding/Saving IMEI number
Always have your IMEI number saved or written somewhere. It just not only helps you when your phone is stolen but it will also help of making an good habit of taking precautions. If you talk about me till now I was so lazy that I end up taking no precaution about my phone even though I am knowing about these stuffs. Anyways now I’ve noted down safely my IMEI number so in case if my phone is stolen or lost there won’t be much of a problem.
Now again lets assume the worst scenario, you heaven’t wrote down your IMEI number before and now your phone is already lost than don’t worry. On your mobile bill there is always mentioned your phone device number and your precious IMEI number so you can get it from there.
Also if you want to check your IMEI number from your phone than just type #06# .
Step #2: Don’t Lock/OFF your Simcard
I know you might be thinking you should lock your simcard as soon as possible by talking to your mobile company, but you’re absolutely wrong in this case. Locking your simcard will close one door of finding your phone. And if you are not sure about your phone that it is lost or stolen then for sure you shouldn’t lock your simcard. You can just call your simcard provider company and ask them for locating your simcard and if your simcard is still there in the phone then you’ll definitely find it out where your phone is. So don’t lock your simcard.
